Hello,
my name is Veronica. I was rear ended 9 months ago and have not recovered. I had "perfect health" before all this hit me...and now am suffering pain 24/7. I just graduated from college and am only able to work 15 hours per week--stretched over the whole week. I do social work and can do some at home. I have trouble sitting, moving, traveling in my car. I have also developed seizures from the Whiplash.

Before this all happened, I was so clueless to the reality and severity of CP. I always thought, "mind over matter!"; and have had it said to me several times..it's not so easy, I have found. I see my Dr's, therapist, chiros, etc but still have found no real relief, but instead find that my pain persist.

One dr say's myofascial pain, another say's Fibromyalgia(from cervical trauma)? ALL I KNOW IS I HURT SO BAD EVER DAY!!! My family have been alienated I guess because to them, it's so illogical that someone could "STILL BE IN PAIN". but I am : (

I hope to find a friend/friends who suffer similar pain and want to share stories, ideas, insights, etc

God bless, Veronica

Hello,
I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going through. Sounds pretty simaliar to me! I'm 30 and have had severe CP for 5 years now. I have severe Fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain and chronic migraines. It all started in 2002 after a series of 3 traumatic accidents. Normally my body heals up pretty well too but not after to many in such a short period of time. In 2000 I had two accidents - I was rearended while sitting at a traffic light. i had severe whiplash as well but eventually recovered after 2 months. Then I was riding on the back of a motorcycle and the bike flipped coming off the freeway - the guy when flying and landed on his knees and I stayed on the bike, was crushed by the bike and then was thrown out and got wrapped around the guard rail. I had severe leg trauma - nothing broken but had to stay off my left leg for 8 months (and so flunked out of school!) and also had a bad concussion. But again I healed after 6 months. Then in 2002 I was working at a barn and was puttng a horse away in it's stall and it's head whipped around and collided with my left temple area. I was thrown almost to the ground and had a severe concussion. One week later I could not get out of bed, had to crawl to the bathroom. I had a flare that lasted a whole 2 months - my whole body burned and anything that touched my skin hurt so badly. I wanted to kill myself, having never been in so much total body pain before in my entire life. I was diagnosed Feb of 2002 with Fibromyalgia, which was confirmed later in 2005 and I self diagnosed at first in 2004 with CMP but that was also later confirmed by my current doctor. So it sounds like you may be in the same boat, with having the double whammy of both Fibro and myofascial pain. It defiently sucks and my doc says I'm one of the most severe cases he's ever seen. I'm in severe pain 8-10 every single day. My flares go off of that chart. I can't work, am on long term disability and am on some pretty good meds. I recommend extended release meds if you can take them. If you'd like more info on what I take and do to help me, feel free to contact me. I have quite a lot to recommend someone newly diagnosed trying! My email is below. Take care of yourself! I also have some great books you should read about having both conditions at once. It's a very special/severe diagnosis, having both Fibro and CMP and you should take care of yourself very carefully.

Whitney :)
