The New York Chronic Pain Meetup Group
|
Welcome to the group!!! This has been an idea of mine for a long time. Form a group that enriches everyone's lives and not to separate people by illness. Our group will focus on sharing everyones experience in regards to chronic pain and how it affects us, how we can learn from each other and share life?s joy. This is not a single minded single syndrome or a one disease group. We are a group of many who understand what persistent chronic pain is and how it can affect us. I will let you know this. I have been in a chronic state of pain for well over 10 years. Part of it is caused by a syndrome, a birth defect and a disease. For many years I classified myself with only one illness and kept myself involved with a single support group. This is nothing more than self isolation. Not anymore, not in my lifetime. Finally, after a recent surgery I woke up. Truly a lover of life, my perpetual happiness is a gift for me to share. To help others help mend the pain through the lives of others like us. If I make you smile, then that is one second without pain. If we all share a smile it could last for hours. Stu
